Be Aware of Sex Offenders

 

To: PS 377 Staff:

Please be aware that as per the NYS Sex Offenders Registration Act parents and staff members should be notified of sex offenders who have move to the vicinity of PS 377. For this purpose, a file with pictures of such individuals is located at the Office of Guidance Services, room 165. Please be advised that if you see a registered sex offender who is the subject of a notification, engaged in suspicious conduct, you must immediately notify an immediate supervisor so proper action can be taken.

I will ask that each of you, in your daily lessons, reinforce with students the importance of not responding to strangers and the actions each student should take if approached by a stranger, including reporting to a responsible adult. It is not our intention to alarm the students, but to reinforce their ability to react to the potential danger of speaking to or going off with a stranger.

These procedures are part of our continuing effort to provide a safe environment for all
children at PS 377.
